WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!

So this is Day 8, if I’m on the same countdown clock.
Now that Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have just completely f*cked America by blocking the Senate relief bill (and in Nancy’s case, wanting an occasion to have her name on pens again), I’m guessing Trump is OVER IT.
But what does he mean by that tweet? NYC just went into total lockdown last night at 8pm, leaving only essential operations open. Early yesterday, Trump said he was ready to send national guard assistance into WA, CA, and NY. Mobile hospital centers are being deployed to those states.
So to say that we’re looking at a mixed message here, is kinda an understatement.
But that’s not to say I don’t understand his frustration. We are seeing people of every political stripe talking about drastic measures to take with our economy that would have been unthinkable to most Republicans last month. And those measures aren’t even good enough to Democrats, who are clearly pouncing on this national crisis as a way to push their own insane agenda, which is – in a nutshell – to nationalize every possible industry.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place, and I don’t pretend to know for a MOMENT what the right answer is, except that I don’t think 15 days of limited quarantine is enough time to effectively flatten the curve. And I also don’t think endless quarantine is conducive to maintaining an effective American economy. So what to do?
I know there are people out there who STILL think that we’re all collectively overreacting to this virus, that we can’t possibly end up like Italy, that our healthcare system is better equipped to handle the load, etc. etc. And while I’m no Katie Porter fan, I AM a fan of math (when other people do it, obvs), and Katie’s sister, who is an ER physician, broke down why we’re doing what we’re doing in a way that made a lot of mathematical sense to me.

Anyway, Trump seems to be losing patience with this entire virus battle, and it’ll be very interesting to see what his limits really are.
